  • What should I wear?
You want to wear clothes that allow you to move freely. Athletic wear works fine. Our new textured walls have grit so you might want to wear long leggings and long sleeves.
  • How old do I have to be to climb?
We do not have an age minimum in order to climb, although we find that 5 years and older is a good general age. Every child is different in body strength and awareness. We have had climbers as young as 3 years old climb successfully and happily. Children under 14 years old must be under direct adult supervision at all times while in the climbing gym. You must be 14 years or older in order to Belay other climbers.
  • Do I need an appointment?
Currently, you do not need an appointment to visit our facility. Certain clinics, classes, and events may require bookings and advanced notice. If you are bringing a group please visit our Group/Birthdays page for information, availability and bookings.
  • Do I need a belay class?
All top-rope climbers and belayers who are 14 years old and older who cannot "Test Out" using proper belay technique and tie-in when walking in the door require a belay class. If you, your kids, or your friends are planning on rope climbing during public hours, you must know how to belay. Remember belaying is a critical part of a climber's system: If it has been a while since you have belayed please be prepared to complete a class if you cannot "Test Out" with 100% proficiency on a ATC/tube style belay device using a PBUS/AMGA/CWA style belay technique.
  • What is Belaying/Belayer?
Belaying is the act of securing a roped climber by using a belay device and climbing rope to minimize the impact of a fall. The belayer is responsible for the climber who is climbing on their rope. Duties of belayers include: taking up slack as the climber ascends, catching falls, lowering, and double checking the climber's harness and tie-in. In order to belay you must 14 years old or older and successfully complete a belay test out (free) or take a belay class ($30, $10 for members).
  • Do I need experience or special equipment?
No, not at all. Both bouldering and rope climbing is open to all skill levels and our belay class can have first time climbers climbing in 45-60 minutes and includes all the climbing equipment needed. High quality climbing equipment is also available for rent or purchase.
  • What type of membership is best for me?
There are a few questions you should ask yourself before signing up for a membership. 1. Am I climbing often enough for a membership to be worth it? If you're climbing more than 4 times a month, the answer is yes! 2. Should I go for the EFT monthy or a Rock Block? That also depends on how much you're wanting to climb. Again, if you plan on climbing more than 5-10 times in one month or you want to take advantage of those sweet EFT member benefits, go for the EFT! 3. Individual or family EFT, which one is right for me? Well, if you plan on bringing you significant other, kids, or brother/sister to the gym with you often, go for the family plan. However, if you're the only avid climber in your fam, it may be best to get an individual membership for you and pay for day passes for the others. You can always switch to a family membership and Rock Blocks make great gifts!
  • What are the EFT member benefits?
    - UNLIMITED CLIMBING!!! What more could you ask for? Turns out, a lot more. - One free guest pass a month. We love sharing our gym with newbies. So comes show your friends how cool and strong you are! - 1 week of free equipment rentals when you start. This is great for trying out shoes and harnesses before investing in your own. - 10% of pro-shop purchases. you will recieve 10% off almopst all equipmetn and gear, that's climbing shoes, chalk, chalkbags, etc. - $10 belay class for yourself, and use in conjuction with your free guest pass and their belay class will be onlyu $100 too. - 1 free yoga class. Drop in for your free yoga class with one of our certified instructors to take your climbing to the next level. Additional classes are only $5, or add unlimted yoga for $15/month. - Ability to freeze your account. • How do I purchase a membership?
There are two ways to sign up for a membership and they're both super easy! 1. Come visit the gym! Whether you're planning on climbing or not, we'd love to for you to stop buy to set up a membership. 2. Sign up online! Click "Buy Membership" directly above. • Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga
Overview: Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga is a dynamic and structured style that emphasizes a flowing sequence of postures (asanas) linked with breath (ujjayi pranayama). It was popularized by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois in the 20th century and is known for its rigorous and physically demanding nature. Key Features: Set Sequences: Ashtanga has a series of specific postures, typically divided into six series. Practitioners usually start with the Primary Series and may advance through the others as they gain proficiency. Vinyasa Flow: Each movement is coordinated with breath, creating a continuous flow that builds heat and stamina. Drishti: A focal point for gaze, helping to enhance concentration and mindfulness during practice. Self-Practice: While classes are often led, practitioners may also engage in self-practice (Mysore style), allowing for individual pacing. Benefits: Builds strength, flexibility, and endurance. Enhances mental focus and discipline. Encourages mindfulness through breath and movement.
  • Yin Yoga
Overview: Yin Yoga is a slower-paced style that targets the connective tissues, such as ligaments, tendons, and fascia. It involves holding postures for extended periods, typically ranging from three to five minutes, promoting deep relaxation and introspection. Key Features: Long Holds: Poses are held for several minutes to gently stretch and stimulate the deeper tissues. Passive Practice: Unlike Ashtanga, Yin is more passive, encouraging surrender and stillness in the body. Focus on Connective Tissue: Yin poses are designed to enhance flexibility in the joints and improve circulation. Mindfulness and Meditation: The practice often incorporates mindfulness techniques, making it a meditative experience. Benefits: Increases flexibility and range of motion. Reduces stress and promotes relaxation. Encourages a deeper connection between mind and body.
