Descriptions
Program Coordinator
As the Program Coordinator, you will develop and implement adult and youth programming for the Alchemy Climbing community. The Programs Coordinator’s scope covers youth classes, including after school climbing clubs, spring and summer camps, as well as adult climbing classes, gym competitions, adult climbing leagues, and alternative fitness offerings. The Program Coordinator is also tasked with managing group/party event reservations. The Program Coordinator will work closely with the marketing team, and report directly to the Owner and Operations Manager.
Responsibilities will include:
• Oversee all group/event bookings and ensure adherence to all booking and event policies
• Communicate with group/party event organizers to ensure a positive experience
• Coordinate Youth Program schedule, including climber enrollment, make-up classes and late enrollment
• Communicate youth programming coaching/counselor needs to the Operations Manager
• Create and implement lesson plans for specific markets or needs
• Coordinate gym-related educational program schedule and enrollment, including recurring climbing classes or fitness events
• Identify areas for growth or improvement within programming schedule, and build or update classes as necessary
• Work as a Welcome Desk Shift Lead, open/close the facility
• Other management duties as assigned
Desired Skills and Experience:
• Current SafeSport, First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications, required within 30 days of hire date
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Customer service experience
• Experience working with youth of all ages
• Ability to enforce rules and regulations
• Ability to work mornings/nights/weekends
• Staff management or leadership skills
• Previous group event coordination or program management experience, preferred
• Previous indoor rock climbing and belaying experience, preferred but can be taught
• 2 years of experience in climbing specific instruction, preferred, though can be substituted with K-12 education instructional experience or other instructional experience
• Previous recreation industry experience, preferred, but not required
Employee Development: Oversee training and continued staff development to assist in all programs-specific responsibilities, as well as support welcome desk staff with all program-related questions
Collaborative Promotion: Coordinate with the Operations Manager and work with the Marketing team for programs promotion
Program Innovation: Strategically develop and oversee offerings for progressive climbing classes and new cross-training opportunities.

Welcome Desk/Instructor Job Description
The ideal Alchemy Climbing Front Desk employee loves rock climbing and is passionate about serving the climbing community by making our gym welcoming, clean, and inviting to people of all backgrounds and climbing abilities. They are committed to helping climbers have an exceptional experience from the moment they walk in the door to the moment they walk out. On shift, Front Desk staff work as a team under the direction of Shift Lead and/or Management. Front Desk staff report to the Operations Manager of the facility.
Responsibilities and Duties
• Be a positive, friendly, inclusive, and motivating presence for both customers and teammates
• Check in customers and members, handle basic customer account issues
• Give climbing gym orientations
• Constantly monitor climbing areas; intervene to mitigate risk with professionalism and courtesy
• Engage with the community and form genuine connections with customers
• Work parties/groups as a belayer
• Promote Alchemy events, programs, and memberships, with a focus on improving customer experience and building community (vs. selling)
• Recommend gear to interested customers and assist in fitting shoes, harnesses, etc.
• Resolve customer concerns through listening, asking questions, seeking solutions, and escalating to a manager when appropriate
• Keep the gym a clean and inviting space through constant dusting, disinfecting, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, deep cleaning, etc.
• Maintain clean and well-stocked retail displays
• Additional responsibilities may include power washing climbing holds, equipment maintenance, small projects, and administrative tasks
• Attend staff meetings
Qualifications and Skills
• Preferred experience: customer service, retail, knowledge of climbing gear, climbing background, speaking in front of groups
• Detail oriented
• Strong work ethic and teamwork mindset
• Able to take direction and desire to grow personally and professionally
• Flexibility to workdays/evenings/weekends as needed
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Basic computer and administrative proficiency

Physical Demands
• Ability to be on one’s feet for up to 8-10 hours at a time
• Lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis
• Ability to carry and operate cleaning equipment, such as backpack vacuum and pressure washer
• Ability to ascend a 30-foot climbing wall if needed for any reason
• Ability to work in changing outdoor conditions, such as for power washing holds

Youth Team Coach (with Welcome Desk Support)
Alchemy Climbing Coaches work closely with the Head Coach and Management to lead, inspire, and support youth athletes and their families through both competitive and exploratory climbing programs. Coaches foster a positive, inclusive, and lasting experience for our community.
In addition to coaching, Youth Team Coaches occasionally work welcome desk shifts to help create a friendly, safe, and welcoming environment for climbers of all backgrounds.
We’re seeking a coach who brings curiosity, patience, passion, and climbing knowledge. The ideal candidate is comfortable coaching youth climbers, engaging with parents, and providing excellent customer service. Alchemy Coaches balance hard work and fun while nurturing young climbers toward growth, community, and a lifelong love of climbing.
Responsibilities and Duties
Coaching
• Deliver practices following the seasonal training plan developed with the Head Coach.
• Supervise youth climbers during bouldering and belaying.
• Foster an inclusive, supportive, and motivating environment aligned with Alchemy’s core values.
• Coach at competitions and special events as needed.
• Assist with administrative tasks: track rosters, belay training, maintain practice notes, and communicate with parents.
• Partner with the Head Coach to offer mentorship and guidance for athletes.
Welcome Desk
• Provide a positive, friendly first impression for all guests.
• Check in members and guests; handle basic customer account updates.
• Give facility orientations and support group events/parties.
• Promote Alchemy events, programs, and memberships with a focus on community.
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and inviting gym environment.
• Monitor climbing areas to help ensure safety and mitigate risks.
Qualifications and Skills
• Preferred experience: youth coaching, customer service, retail, climbing gear knowledge, public speaking.
• Detail-oriented with a strong work ethic and teamwork mindset.
• Able to take direction and eager to grow personally and professionally.

Spring Break Camps running 9am to noon, March 11-15. Potential age groups 4yo-6yo, 7yo-12yo, 13-17yo but may be condensed/rearranged depending on what staff is available.
Job description:
Alchemy Camp Counselors will be many young climbers' first ambassador to the sport of indoor rock climbing. Counselors will support youth participants through bouldering and top rope climbing as well as facilitating group games. Alchemy Camp Counselors demonstrate professionalism and maintain a high coaching standard to foster a positive and lasting experience for families while contributing to company culture. The ideal candidate will have a background of working with children that exhibits patience and passion, motivation to meaningfully contribute to Alchemy Youth Programs, and commitment to delivering a balanced approach of trying hard and having fun to an inclusive environment of diverse climbing needs.
Responsibilities and Duties:
• Supervise and guide youth climbers who will be bouldering and roped climbing while maintaining injury and risk prevention measures
• Implement group activities that promote our core values
• Follow the camp schedule and deliver instruction appropriate for your group's level
• Report any issues or concerns to management team
Qualifications and Skills:
• Classroom/group management
• Strong communication skills, teamwork mindset, and ability to take direction for professional and personal growth
• Background check required
• Current CPR/First Aid/AED certification
• Climbing experience and top rope belay proficiency highly preferred
